Bibliocommons Review

I like the new catalog a lot. I got right in, did some looking around, tried out the advanced search feature, and made a couple of lists. I found one incredible improvement over the old catalog and one cool feature. The improvement is that the search box is displayed at the top of every page. The cool feature is the ability to limit a search to items that are available. This will come in handy when a little child comes up to you and asks if you have any Pokemon videos available.

I also have one question. Are we going to give away prizes for the points we get? I have ten and would like to get something for them.

Word Jumble. . . My New Album

What I have done is take the titles of TEN "famous" songs, break them down into their component words, and rearrange those words to create NINE new song titles. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to figure out the ten original song titles. Each word from the original titles is used exactly once for the new titles (47 words in the old titles, 47 words in the new titles). Remember, I created nine titles from ten original songs. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

1. Time to Name Your Baby, Fools
2. I Want to Cry
3. The Stairway Where I Could Stand
4. The Hand Walk (I have a dance for this one, it will be very popular)
5. I Have No Sympathy for One More Line Dancer
6. I'm Closer By, So Hold Me
7. The Tiny Devil Man Hit Me
8. Hold Your Chain
9. Lonesome Streets of Heaven

P.S. I don't have any lyrics for these songs at the moment, but I could probably hum you the melody if you asked. Also, one of the original songs does not belong. You get bonus points if you can tell me which one and why.

Web 2.0 Review and Other Cool Stuff

I didn't want to just do a blog post to review a web 2.0 tool. I thought it might ruin the vibe of my blog. Not that my blog has a particularly cool vibe or anything. So I decided to bury it in with some other stuff that (in my opinion) is pretty cool. I put it in list form for your reading benefit. Here you go.

Let's Get Interactive. . . ANIMALS!!!

These questions will specifically be about vertebrates (animals with backbones). So sorry sea cucumber lovers, you don't get to show off your knowledge this time. Remember, you do not have to have an answer for every question to participate and don't be afraid to guess.

Pets in Things

When I was growing up we had an open door policy towards animals. If a stray showed up at our house it got fed and usually stuck around long enough to be considered a pet. Since we lived on a gravel road, which is prime animal dumping territory, a lot of animals showed up to take advantage of our policy. Here are some of my favorite pet pictures. The theme being: Pets in Things. All of the animals got into whatever object they are in under their own power. (Honestly, the cat got into the bag on her own. My dad just happened to be there to make sure she stayed in the bag long enough to get her picture taken.)
